Bob Niemeyer, proprietorBob Niemeyer is a 3rd generation furniture restorer. With over 30 years of experience, Bob is a master of his trade in every way.
For 16 years, Bob worked as the vice president and lead finisher of the family business in San Diego, CA, which dates back to 1910. There he serviced high end clients and even received a ‘Best of the Best’ award.
With a vast knowledge of wood finishing, Bob moved to the Midwest and became a technical representative for a large coatings manufacture. He has provided consulting for many large manufactures across the United States, as well as Europe and Asia.
Bob has authored for technical articles in publishings such as Wood Digest, and Finishing Magazine. He has been a finishing forum moderator providing online technical support for woodweb.com, and even provided technical details for a book on wood finishing.
Consulting has even brought Bob to the International Woodworking Fair in Atlanta, GA as a key note speaker, discussing staining issues and UV coatings.
Bob saw a need in the local area for furniture repair and restoration and started Onsite Touch Up & Restoration, a mobile furniture repair business, which has been successful for over 10 years in the Madison area. He also runs Niemeyer Products, a business distributing ICA coatings, an Italian wood coatings manufacture that he has been a technical representative for over 10 years.
Currently, Bob also teaches wood finishing and advanced wood finishing classes at Madison Area Technical College and serves on the advisory board for the college’s woodworking program.
In combination with his teaching, Bob also participated in a grant for the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he taught Hmong immigrants the trade of wood finishing.
With vast knowledge in the field of wood finishing, Bob continues to be the best. His passion pursues with Niemeyer Restoration, a company providing high-end furniture services.
